From May 2017 we will improve the way we use information from GP patient records. These changes will help to plan and improve health and care services in Scotland.
SPIRE (Scottish Primary Care Information Resource) is a service that has been developed to help GPs, the NHS in Scotland and researchers to learn from information held at GP practices.
To reduce the footfall within the practice, we are encouraging all patients to sign up with a Pharmacy for collection of their prescriptions.
If you have a preferred Pharmacy for collecting your scripts please contact the practice and we will arrange to have this setup. This will mean when you order your scripts, they will be delivered direct to the Pharmacy of your choice and you should attend there for collection.
Please allow 4 working days for collection from time of ordering.
Repeat prescriptions may be obtained in a number of ways.
If you wish your prescription to be posted out to you, or to your preferred pharmacist, please provide us with a stamped addressed envelope. A number of local pharmacies offer a collection service from the surgery. Please ask your pharmacy if they collect from Albyn Medical Practice.
If you are going on holiday or during Christmas or New Year periods please order your repeat prescriptions in plenty of time. Please note that a person can only collect prescriptions if they are over the age of 16.
To obtain your results you can visit the surgery, or telephone us on 01224 586829 between 11:00 am and 5.50 pm.
Please make sure to have the details of the test(s) taken available to you when you phone for your results.
Very often patients have more than one test taken and it is important that patients receive the correct number of results back. If you have a blood test taken you will be given a 'chit' with the details of the tests done.
Test results vary in the time taken to arrive back from the laboratory. Please note we would request all patients to contact us for their results and emphasise your responsibility to follow-up the results of tests taken.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
